Lulu has not issued an official statement on the Amazon POD demands. According to Writer's Weekly, Print on Demand publishers are being told to use Amazon's own BookSurge POD printer or else Amazon will disable the "buy" button for their books. Several POD publishers have had their buy buttons disabled. Amazon/BookSurge wants to eventually "have no books from other POD publishers available on Amazon.com."

I've migrated the important posts from my Lulu profile onto this site. I thought about keeping the rss widget to follow the feed from my Lulu blog but decided I just wanted to deal with one site.

I have this book and gave it a quick skim. I think it has some really valid points but the hype that's beginning to spread about it is a bit too much, in my opinion. The Long Tail is not the be all and end all of your problems or strategy. I think it depends on the industry you are in. There will be some cases where the long tail phenomena will not be helpful to your business.
